Message from the Program Chairs

Welcome to the 43rd IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks (LCN). We are pleased to continue the tradition of IEEE LCN, the premier conference on computer networks, in offering a high quality technical program in a friendly setting that facilitates close interactions among participants.

LCN 2018 received 151 full paper submissions. Each paper received a minimum of three reviews. In addition, a senior TPC member was assigned to each paper, who moderated the discussions and provided a final recommendation. Out of the 151 full paper submissions, 45 papers have been accepted. The authors submitted the final versions of up to 9 pages, resulting in an acceptance ratio of 29.8%. The acceptance ratio of the submitted short papers was 20%. Together with the papers transferred from the full paper track, a total of 41 short 4-page papers were accepted that will be presented as posters. The LCN conference proceedings include both full and short papers.

Three candidates for the best paper award have been selected based on reviews, recommendations of the senior TPC members, and additional feedback from the Organizing and Steering Committees. These papers will be presented in a special plenary session.

We would like to thank the many people who have contributed to this year's LCN program. Foremost, we wish to thank the paper authors for choosing LCN as the channel to present their quality research. We are grateful to the 109 members of the Technical Program Committee and the additional reviewers for providing quality reviews, and in many cases participating in discussions among reviewers to help in the final paper selection process. The program of the conference would not have been possible without their generous work and efforts.

We would, of course, like to thank the LCN 2018 Organizing Committee as well as the LCN 2018 Steering Committee for their help and support. Finally, we would like to welcome the attendees to the conference and thank them for participating in LCN 2018. We hope that you will enjoy reading the 2018 IEEE LCN papers as much as we did, and will find the program interesting and stimulating. Finally, we wish you a pleasant stay in Chicago, IL, USA. Enjoy LCN 2018!
